A leak from Disney seems to indicate the final film in the new Star Wars trilogy will see the remnants of The Resistance form a hard-working 80s cover band and tour the Galaxy’s pubs, bars and hives of scum and villainy.
The leak appears to be from a press release and reads – ‘Broken and diminished, The Resistance respond in the only way they know how, by forming a band and playing classics by Roxette, ZZ Top and Ultravox.’
Many fans were excited.
“Yeah, this is great news if its true,” said fan Darth Jeremy Grant.
“I really enjoyed Force Awakened and Last Jedi but always felt they could have been improved if they had an 80s cover band.
“Personally, I’d have wanted the band to focus specifically on 80s funk like The Time and Trouble Funk, but I’ll take it.”
However, there were some who preferred to reserve judgement.
“Its definitely the sort of thing I want to see,” said Twitter user @JabbaMyHutt.
“But I’ll wait and see how they do it first, if they don’t have Poe Dameron and Rey sharing vocal duties with Finn on drums and Chewbacca on bass then, frankly, it’s a betrayal of everything Star Wars stands for.”
Star Wars: Total Eclipse of the Heart is expected to be released in 2020 with, what can only be described as, a ‘bitchin’ soundtrack.’
