A renegade cop has broken his silence on the complex investigation to take down a criminal mastermind that ultimately culminated in a fistfight on the mastermind’s front lawn.
The mastermind was a corrupt politician who had used his position to slowly funnel finances into a holding company that, with the help of several bribed officials, served as a buffer between him and the mortgage fraud apparatus that was netting him millions.
“Yeah, a fistfight was definitely that way to go with that guy,” confirmed Detective Rick Wild, known as Danger Rick to his colleagues.
“I mean, I did have the opportunity to quietly arrest him and set in motion an intricate and complicated trial that could take place over the course of a year and ultimately end in justice prevailing.”
“Or we could have a big fight to see who’s best. And I’m best.”
“Yes, there is a chance that my decision could jeopardise any future conviction due to accusations of police brutality, but it was totally worth it. Did you see the bit where I roundhoused him in the face?”
It is understood that Mr Wild has received no official sanction for the fistfight, but that his chief did loudly verbally abuse him for several minutes in a speech that culminated in the phrase – ‘I should bust your ass because you’re dangerous, but damn it, you get results, now get out there and do some good.’
It is understood that the speech is a standard text for US police chiefs.
