A petition has been set up to promote the casting of a white actor to replace Henry Cavill in the role of Superman.

Since Cavill announced he was standing down from the role, there have been calls to replace him with a black actor which have proved controversial because the Internet.

The petition demands that ‘Superman should be kept white, because he’s white in real life and you shouldn’t try and imposition [sic] pc correctness on people who just want to enjoy Superman.’

The petition was started Jeremy Tool, a 42-year-old Superman fan who is appalling.

“I’ve got nothing against the blacks,” said Mr Tool, convincingly.

“But Superman is white in real life so you can’t just make him black, can you?

“I mean, it’s just trying to be trendy and right-on and clever and most people hate clever things.

“The bottom line is that it’s just not realistic to have a space alien with super-powers be black.

Mr Tool issued a plaintive threat to producers that may or may not give them pause for thought.

“If you make Superman black, then I probably won’t ever watch a Superman film again.”

It is probably best not to mention to Mr Tool the characters of Red in Shawshank Redemption or Agent J in Men in Black or Mary Jane in Spiderman: Homecoming amongst many, many others.
