Paris Olympics 2024 to feature Wordle

Wordle will feature as an event in the Olympics for the first time ever in Paris 2024.

“Wordle is one of the most popular new games in the world,” said Olympic Academy President Stewart James.

“We wated an opportunity to gather together the greatest Wordle players on the planet and allow them to compete in the spirit of Olympic egalitarianism.”

The new Wordle event format will take its inspiration from the way it is played every day across the world.

“Wordle players will compete from a toilet cubicle,” continued Mr James.

“The arena will consist of a row of toilet cubicles. Competitors will sit on the loo and try to complete the day’s Wordle in the shortest time possible and then post their results on Twitter. The first person to post their results on Twitter will be considered the winner.

“In the event of a tie, judges will award the win to whichever competitor wrote the most amusingly self-deprecating message on the Tweet.”

Leading Wordle player Kelly Grace welcomed the news.

“Fantastic, I’ve spent so much time on the bog playing Wordle that my manager is starting to give me grief,” she said.

“It’s good to know I can now just tell him I’m practising for the Olympics.”

The addition of Wordle to the Olympics will mean a discipline will need to be retired. “Yeah, we’ll probably just get rid of one of the running ones, there’s loads of them” said Mr James, “I mean 400 metres is basically the same as 200 metres. I can’t imagine anyone would miss that.”
