In what is being seen as a counter to Sony’s announcement of a new PlayStation classic, Nintendo have announced a brand new ‘mini’ version of their popular SNES-mini system.
The SNES-mini-mini will contain the 20 games included on the classic SNES-mini and will be half the size.
“The SNES-mini was one of the most popular consoles Nintendo ever produced,” said Nintendo representative Mario something-or-other.
“So we are delighted to welcome the new SNES-mini-mini as a brand new way to enjoy all the fun of a SNES-mini in a new super-cute compact form for 2018.”
First released in 2017, the SNES-mini was an instant hit, selling out in days and giving millions of people literally minutes of fun before being switched off and left to gather dust under the TV.
The new SNES-mini-mini will give nostalgia fans a chance to relive those heady days of last Autumn.
Fans were excited.
“A SNES-mini-mini? Man, I am super-psyched for that, it’s going to be bitchin’,” said 58-year-old High Court Judge Jeffrey Moore.
“I am so going to pre-order that. I remember me and the other High Court Judges staying up late to play Mario Kart, so it’ll be great to relive those times again.
“Although, I guess no one’s going to want to be Toad nowadays.”
If successful, it is expected that Nintendo will follow up the SNES-mini-mini with a SNES-mini-mini-mini that comes in a matchbox and a SNES-mini-mini-mini-mini that can only be seen with the aid of an electron microscope.
