Next year’s Batman reboot scheduled for April, following year’s unconfirmed

Next year’s Batman reboot that will be much darker this time has been scheduled for April; the following year’s reboot is still unconfirmed.

“April’s a good time for a Batman reboot, it’s been perfect for the last few reboots,” explained producer Stewart James.

“March is fairly quiet, so it means we can dominate press and internet with stories about how incredibly dark this iteration of Batman is and how it might well be the first ever 18-rated Batman and have hardcore nudity and violence before a big revelation around Easter that it’s just be a PG film like normal.”

It also allows for a well-timed casting furore.

“One of the keys to an annual Batman reboot is a good casting furore. September/October is a good time for a casting furore. Everyone’s just back from their holidays and is really quite cross which can really add fire to a casting furore.

“Ideally, you want a good 2-4 week casting furore. It doesn’t matter who is picked to be the next Batman, there’ll always be a casting furore.”

The timing also allows for casting rumours to develop over Summer.

“Oh yes, a couple of months feverish online speculation about how Chris Pratt might be the next Batman. That’s what you want over summer. In fact, that very sentence will probably kick off this year’s feverish online casting speculation. So that’s all good.”

Mr James wouldn’t go as far as to confirm the following year’s Batman reboot release date.

“No, but I definitely wouldn’t bet against April.”

The April date for the next year’s Batman reboot is good news for the Spiderman franchise, which has been scheduled to get a new reboot every Autumn for the next few years, as has become traditional.
