Moments before the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday, fans of Dr Who were treated to a new trailer for the three-episode run in November, which will see David Tennant’s return as the famed timelord.
Thrillingly, the trailer even revealed the colour of toothbrush he will be using.
It’s green. It’s a green toothbrush.
Fans have reacted with typical restraint and moderation.
“A green toothbrush! I WILL NEVER WATCH DOCTOR WHO AGAIN,” wrote @HardcoreWhovian, determined to make full use of Twitter’s new 280 character limit
“I’ve already thrown my television out of the window, and am in the process of burning my house down so I am never tempted to buy another television, and it’s ALL DR WHO’S FAULT.”
However, other fans welcomed the development.
“Frankly, I think it’s about time the Doctor had a green toothbrush,” wrote @WhosBetter
“I mean, it’s 2023. Why shouldn’t the Doctor have a green toothbrush. I mean, he’s an alien with two hearts, so I think we can all accept that he could use a green toothbrush.”
It is expected that the BBC will feed expectation further next month when they reveal how the new Doctor likes his eggs, at which point the internet will explode.
