New Superhero film DogCat is about a cat with the powers of a dog

Superhero fans have been thrilled to learn that a new superhero film – DogCat, about a cat with the powers of dog – is in the works and should be released in 2025

The film will, inevitably, be an origin story and will tell how Mog, an ordinary cat, is bitten by a radioactive dog from space and develops dog-like powers such as barking, fetching sticks, and eating more than it really needs.

“DogCat is the most exciting superhero concept I’ve ever heard of,” said producer Joel Murneau

“For a start, it’s a cat! How many superheroes are cats? Apart from Catwoman, of course. But no others. Secondly, there is no superhero with the powers of a dog. Think about it. It’s never happened, which is crazy, right? We’re really doing pioneering stuff here”

Budgeted at over $100m, the picture will be a special effects bonanza and will feature a motion-captured human playing a cat behaving like a dog.

“I’m giving nothing away,” continued Mr Murneau

“But if we can get the shot of DogCat peeing against a fire hydrant whilst playing with a ball of yarn, it’s going to blow your mind.”

Although there is no official news on casting yet, it is rumoured that Guy Pearce is lobbying for the lead role of DogCat and is going full method by only drinking milk from a saucer and being diffident with the affections of his owners.
