The hotly anticipated ‘Picard’ spin-off show will focus on the Star Trek legend’s attempts to host a new space-cookery show.
Despite the ubiquity of replicators in the Star Trek universe, cooking shows remain popular in the 24th century and so, a little bored after his retirement from Starfleet, Picard agrees to host a prime-time cookery show that will be broadcast across the galaxy.
“I guess we’re going for funny but, you know, highbrow funny – think Frasier in space,” said producer Alex Kurtzman.
The fictional cookery show will be called ‘Make it so.’
“Yeah, that’s just genius. It’ll start with Picard going ‘these are eggs benedict, they’re delicious and you’re probably wondering how you can create them, well now I’ll show you how to ‘make it so.’”
However, the show will also be a poignant examination of Picard coming to terms with his retirement.
“Sure, I mean, he’s like ‘well, I was Captain of the Federation flagship and now I show people how to make eggs,’ you know, it’s difficult for him.”
Kurtzman also promised some guest stars.
“Oh man, we got an episode where Riker turns up and, this kills me, whenever Picard is whisking, like, milk or something, and Riker plays his trombone and Picard spills the milk and he’s like ‘RIKER!’ – man, that’s funny right there.”
It is expected that the ‘Picard’ show will premiere later this year and will inevitably, feature a tie-in cookbook that will let you cook something Klingon that looks like worms.
Please Tell me your joking, What a stupid show “Make It so” would be. Talking about shooting for low ratings. So Dumb!!.
