A new film has been announced that will be based on Strawberry Shortcake or Pound Puppies or something half-remembered from a film executive’s childhood.
The film follows successful eighties toy reboots such as She-ra, Smurfs and Transformers.
“Yeah, eighties toys are where it’s at now,” explained Producer Stewart James.
“Baffles me, but there’s no accounting for the taste of children. They’re weird and their brains don’t work normally at that age.
“So yeah, we got a new picture based on Strawberry Shortcake or Pound Puppies or something like that coming soon.
“I mean what the hell is Strawberry Shortcake anyway? The adventures of some dessert? I don’t know, the script guy can figure that out. Seems nuts to me.”
Mr James gave a brief overview of the plot of the new film.
“Hell I don’t know, little girl is sad, makes friends with some Strawberry Shortcake or Pound Puppies or whatever, then gets happy, then has to defeat a magical wizard who wants all the strawberry shortcake and pound puppies for herself, then everyone learns a nice lesson and goes home.
“That sort of thing.”
It seems that a film based on Strawberry Shortcake or Pound Puppies or something like that won’t be the last in the current trend for eighties toys reboots.
“No way – Cabbage Patch Kids, Micro Machines, Fuzzy Felt. There’s a whole bunch of that crazy crap that we can keep churning out.
“I mean, they even made that one film based on Battleship, if that worked then we can try anything.”
