A new Netflix documentary simple titled Dogs will focus on the titular canines, their lives, their stories, and their secret plot to take over the world and sort everything out.
Originally conceived as a simple but moving documentary about the bond between a dog and his owner, Dogs became something more when filmmaker James Grant stumbled on a clandestine meeting of dogs.
“We’d been filming this story of a dog who was able to help their owner’s child by finding the Lego piece she was looking for,” explained Mr Grant.
“We went into the garage to film the dog cutely sleeping and, well, we were just stunned.”
The crew had stumbled on a huge meeting of dogs plotting to take over the world.
The extraordinary footage is featured in the trailer of Dogs. Sixty or seventy dogs are gathered around a laptop on which a Jack Russell is giving a PowerPoint presentation on global politics.
“I think that they were as shocked as we were, one of them dropped their cigar,” laughs Grant.
However, sensing an opportunity, the dogs decided to allow Grant to continue filming to show that the dogs mean no harm to humans but just want to sort everything out.
“I think most people will see this and agree that dogs will probably make a better fist of running the world than we have and choose to accept their governance,” said Grant.
“I certainly think so.”
Netflix’s Dogs will debut in November, and the canine takeover of Earth is expected to follow a few months afterwards.
