Maverick cop Jack Bastard has been promoted to Rogue cop.
Officer Bastard works out of the toughest precinct in downtown New York, and after several years of not playing by the rules has been rewarded with his promotion to the highest tier of reprobate cop.
“Goddamn it, Bastard is a pain in my ass,” yelled Officer Bastard’s exasperated police chief – Shouty O’Shouter.
“I’m always chewin’ his ass out about some crazy-ass BS that he’s pulled. Which isn’t as rude as it sounds, I’d just like to make that clear. “But, you know what? Despite the crazy-ass BS that Bastard pulls, he’s a damn good cop who gets the job done.”
The promotion came after Officer Bastard ignored an explicit order to lay off the Romaro case.
He’d discovered that the corruption went all the way to the top and no pencil-dick asswipes who’d ridden a desk for twenty years were going to tell him how to be a cop.
Bastard had evidence that prominent local businessman, politician, judge, surgeon, and crusty old college Dean Roman Romaro was behind a complex smuggling-heist-murder-fraud ring. With no back-up, he loaded up his battered Chevy up with a terrifying arsenal of weapons and drove out to the Romaro’s country estate, engaged in a thrilling ten-minute gun-battle with Romaro’s army of goons before having a rain-soaked fistfight with Romaro himself that culminated in Officer Bastard electing not to punch the beaten criminal to death and, muttering ‘you’re not worth it,’ he made the arrest.
“For services to reprobatery, Officer Bastard is hereby promoted to Rogue Cop,” read the announcement in Maverick Cop Monthly.
It is understood that Officer Bastard will celebrate the promotion by going on a four-day bender that will end with him passed out in his car holding a bottle of bourbon and an unlit cigarette.
