Marvel to change release schedule from fortnightly to every three weeks

Marvel has announced plans to slow the release schedule of its TV shows and films from once a fortnight to once every three weeks.

The news follows the lacklustre response to Spiderman: Another Spiderman Film, Jeff Marvel, and Oh No! The Special Effect Might Blow Up – the most recent Marvel releases.

“It’s very important that we don’t oversaturate the market,” explained Kevin Feige.

“For the first fifteen years of the MCU, fortnightly releases were reasonable. Those first 390 films and TV shows needed to come out at an appropriate pace. People were invested. That cycle of Dogcat films about a dog with the powers of a cat needed to come out over the space of six weeks because the demand was there, people wanted to know how Dogcat battle’s with the Galactic Dog Pound resolved.

“Then, of course, Dogcat needed to join the Avengers in Avengers: It’s The Avengers Again, so that needed to come out quickly whilst Dogcat was in people’s minds. It was about momentum. That momentum is slowing, so we’ll be dialling back a little.

“Heaven forbid we get to the stage where it feels like every film that comes out is a Marvel superhero film.”

Marvel fan Stewart James was disappointed.

“This feels like a mistake to me. I can’t be the only one whose heart sinks a little when a film comes out that doesn’t have Ant-Man or a guy with weird coloured skin it. If anything, I’d like to see a new Marvel film every week,” he said, as he was being strapped to the bed for his own safety.

This new schedule means the new Thor film Thor: We’re Not Done With This Guy Yet will not be released this Friday, as expected, but will instead be released next week.
