A new live action version of Disney’s successful Monsters Inc films has been shut down after a tragic monster rampage killed 11 people and wounded many others.
The monsters were filming a scene in which they hilariously pretend to be afraid of a cute little girl when a member of the crew opened a bag of crisps, or ‘chips’ as they are inexplicably called in America.
The monsters were driven into a frenzy by the strong aroma of the crisps and launched into a terrifying bloody rampage across the set.
“It was the most terrible and appalling thing I’ve ever seen on a film set,” said a cameraman who witnessed events
“And I worked on the Star Wars prequels.”
“As soon as the guy opened his bag of chips, the monsters just went for him. He gave them the chips, but it was too late by then. They were in a complete frenzy.
“Oh god, the things they did.”
It seems the sweet-natured Sully, played by John Goodman in the original film, was picking up cast and crew by the legs and smashing them against the wall until their heads smashed apart like melons, whereupon wisecracking charmer Mike, originally played by Billy Crystal, would feed on the victims brains.
As well has the horrific loss of life, the monsters also caused considerable property damage before being finally gunned down by the army.
As the film industry comes to terms with the tragedy, we can only hope that Disney have no plans for a live action remake of their 2000 hit – Dinosaur.
