Following the success of the Lego Movie and the Lego Batman Movie, Warner Brothers have announced that they will be continuing the franchise with the Lego Jane Austen movie
Set in 18th Century Lego Hampshire, the film will be a biting social satire of Lego manners and Lego society.
“We’re really excited about bringing together the novels of Jane Austen and the world of Lego,” said executive Meryl Cumberbatch
“It’s not an adaptation of any of her novels per se, but it is set in what I like to call the Lego Jane Austeniverse, where Lego Elizabeth Bennet, Lego Lady Susan Vernon, and Lego Mary Crawford in all exist together in the same repressed Lego world of class and privilege.
The plot is rumoured to be centred around a Lego dowager who moves into the largest Lego manor in Lego Hampshire and holds a divisive Lego ball and snubs many of the local Lego gentry by not inviting them.
All the other Lego characters from various Jan Austen novels then team up to hold a Lego ball of their own and invite everyone, including the Lego dowager and everyone learns a valuable lesson about friendship.
“And, of course, there’ll be a topless Lego Mr Darcy splashing about in a big pond or the fans would go crazy,” laughed Ms Cumberbatch
If successful, it is expected that Warner Brothers will follow it up with a Lego Shakespeare film, a Lego Dickens film and, perhaps slightly more controversially, a Lego HP Lovecraft film.
