Jason Bourne guides commuter through Waterloo Station on daily basis

A regular commuter to London’s Waterloo Station has revealed that, every morning, international covert operative Jason Bourne gives him instructions to get safely through, and exit the station.

Arriving at ten to eight, Matthew Stiles buys a newspaper and a coffee and leaves the station at the north entrance.

He explains how Jason Bourne guides him through the process.

“Right, just as I’m pulling into the station, that’s when Jason Bourne contacts me on my iPhone using hacking or something and I can hear him on my headphones over my Ocean Colour Scene greatest hits,” explained Mr Stiles.

“First thing, he goes ‘disembark the train and move through the left turnstile,’ it’s not really a turnstile, it’s a gate, but when Jason Bourne is speaking to me, he sounds really authentically American, ‘gate’ would just sound really boring and English.”

“Then he goes ‘Order your coffee, and while waiting, buy your newspaper’ – and, you see, that’s because you should keep moving at all times. It’s basic spycraft.”

“After I’ve done all that, he tells me to walk behind the stores to the North entrance. If I notice someone behaving a bit weirdly, I might ask Jason to check them out.”

Mr Stiles explained that a particularly unnerving experience led to this caution.

“There was this bloke walking towards me and he pulled out an umbrella. I was all like – ‘Jason, the bloke with the umbrella’s going to kill me, but Jason was like – ‘no, it’s just an umbrella, umbrellas don’t kill people.

“He’s always calm and understands the situation.”

With Jason Bourne’s help, Mr Stiles successfully leaves the station every morning.

“That’s because I do exactly what Jason tells me.

“You’d have to be mental not to, because otherwise the bad guys will shoot you in the head.”

It is understood that up to 60% of people making their way through Waterloo station are only able to do so with Jason Bourne guiding them.
