The BBC Iplayer app has removed an episode of new wildlife documentary Seven Worlds, One Planet after complaints about a rant from presenter David Attenborough about dolphins.
The rant occurs about twenty minutes into the episode.
A camera sweeps majestically across the ocean before swooping beneath the surface to reveal a school of dolphins
“Here we see a family of dolphins,” explained the familiar, comforting tones of David Attenborough.
“Bottle-nosed b***ards.
“Giving it all that because they’re the second most intelligent species on the planet!
“Well, that’s the key isn’t it, you swimmy s**ts – ‘second’ – the clue is in the name, we’re the most intelligent species, you mugs are second. Second! Don’t you forget it.”
Attenborough then went on to explain the ways in which dolphins are deficient.
“They can only live in the sea, so they can’t drive cars or go to the shops.
“They claim to be an intelligent species, but they haven’t even got basic mobile phones like those old Nokias.
“They swim like nobs.”
The worst thing though, claimed Attenborough, was their ‘arrogance.’
“They just think they’re so great, but what are they really? Small whales.
“They should just shut up.”
Whilst Iplayer has removed that particular episode, a different episode in which David Attenborough claimed that cows hold stridently communist views will remain after research confirmed the claims to be true.
