He’s back! Moth from moth memes makes comeback with role in new Scorsese film

In a surprising piece of casting, the moth from those moth memes has secured a part in the upcoming Martin Scorsese film as part of an unlikely comeback.

Moth memes were a huge trend for twenty minutes in September 2018 and starred a moth and a lamp interacting in various humorous ways.

It is currently unknown if the lamp is considering a similar comeback.

“I always liked the moth. The moth, I thought, had real talent,” explained Martin Scorsese, after announcing the moth’s casting.

“He’d do that thing in the memes, you know, looking at the lamp because he loved lamps. I believed that, I really did. I believed that moth loved the lamp. He sold it to me. He was terrific.

“So, when I was casting for this role, I knew there were only two real options. The moth from those moth memes or Matt Damon. Happily, the moth said yes, so we never had to ask Matty.”

Fans of the moth memes seemed happy that he was coming back.

“The moth? Oh I loved him,” said leading economist and moth fan Joseph Stiglitz.

“I don’t know how many days I spent looking at moth memes when I should have been influencing modern economic theory, but it was a lot.

“I don’t normally like Martin Scorsese films. They’re too violent for me. I prefer a nice romcom. But, if the moth is in this new one, I might go see it.”

It is understood that the Scorsese role is just one part of the moth’s comeback, and with a stint planned as a presenter on the One Show and an album of the moth’s interpretations of the great American Songbook due over summer, it seems 2021 could be the moth’s year.

Cinema to offer full Sunday Roast as movie snack

A cinema in Sussex has announced that alongside popcorn, hot dogs, and bags of minstrels with too many orange ones in, it will be bringing in a new addition to the movie snack menu – a full Sunday Roast.

Initially there will be a choice of Beef or Chicken, but if it proves popular the Brighton Duke of Sussex cinema hopes to expand it to Pork, lamb, and even something peculiar for vegetarians.

“Increasingly, people demand a wider range of snacks at the cinema because for some reason it’s impossible to go 90 minutes without putting something in your mouth,” said manager Cary Stewart.

“We thought about just picking the orange minstrels out of the bag and calling them limited editions, but then we got a little more ambitious and settled on a full Sunday Roast instead.”

However, the Sunday roast doesn’t come on a plate with a knife and fork.

“No, that would be absurd,” said Mr Stewart

“It comes in a big wrap. So it’s chicken, stuffing, roast potatoes, carrots, peas and gravy all wrapped in a big wrap to make for a more convenient dining experience.”

If successful, Mr Stewart has even more ambitious plans to expand his cinema snack menu.

“An all-you-can-eat curry buffet,” he beamed.

“In a wrap!”
