Gremlins prequel to be set in a mysterious land where days finish at half past eleven

A new animated prequel to eighties Christmas classic Gremlins has been announced.

Secrets of the Mogwai will be set in a strange and mysterious land where it’s always before midnight, and will see a young Mr Wing and Gizmo have all sorts of adventures without ever having to worry about when they eat.

“We wanted to revisit the world of Gremlins,” explained producer Darryl Frank.

“But, you know, the thing was eating, mogwai can’t eat after midnight, and as, if you think about it, it’s always after midnight, then they can’t eat, which means all mogwai would just die of starvation, so we figured we’d set the show in this strange and mysterious land where the day finishes at half past eleven.

“It’s literally the only way that the rule about eating after midnight could make any sense, and when you think about it, it’s not that impractical, I mean, most people go to bed at eleven anyway.

“The only problem is that we can’t have any witches because the whole witching hour thing starting at midnight means they’d never get a chance to come out.

“But, as witches aren’t real. It’s not too big a problem.”

It was also confirmed that it never rains in the mysterious land of the mogwai, because otherwise, it would be chaos.
