Gladiator 3 will see giant robot-dinosaurs with laser eyes in the colosseum

Following Gladiator 2’s triumph of having sharks in a water-filled colosseum, Gladiator 3 will feature gladiators battling giant robot-dinosaurs with laser eyes in the famed arena.

“Historically accurate? Yes and No,” explained director Ridley Scott.

“Whilst there is no actual records of gladiators battling giant robot-dinosaurs with laser eyes in the colosseum, there are no records that specifically say that gladiators didn’t battle giant robot-dinosaurs with laser eyes, so, you know, we can simply never really be sure.”

Much about the third film is still under wraps, but we do know that it is looking to create bigger and more spectacular colosseum scenes.

“We know how important the colosseum was to Roman culture, we know that they’d have really spectacular events in there. We know they had a series of shows that depicted an alien invasion, for example. A giant flying saucer containing loads of monkeys disguised as aliens battled gladiators. We also know there was a hugely popular show that featured gladiators fighting a whale,” continued the directing legend.

“Well, I say ‘know’, maybe ‘assume’ is a better word. But, look, we do know that Roman society was very technologically advanced. They had central heating, so who’s to say they didn’t have the technology to create an alien invasion or giant robot-dinosaurs with laser eyes. It’s certainly plausible.”

Although no details of the plot of Gladiator 3 have been revealed yet, it seems likely that it will see an army of gladiators battle the Roman empire’s army on the forest moon of Endor.
