Game of Thrones to conclude with Starks and Lannisters having a nice party

The final season of Game of Thrones will take on a radically different tone as the Starks and Lannisters elect to abandon their differences and organise a nice party for everyone in Westeros.

The news will come as a surprise to fans who had been expecting an epic, climatic battle against the White Walkers for the survival of all within the Seven Kingdoms.

“Frankly, we got tired of all the endless war and violence,” said showrunner David Benioff.

“The constant churn of murder and death – I think everyone is a little sick of that, so we’ve decided to do something a little bit different for the final season and have a nice party.”

The opening episode of the season will show the White Walkers, after having brought down a section of the Wall, decide that they can’t really be bothered to march south and so they all go home instead.

“Yeah, that gives four episodes showing the preparation for the party and then the final two episodes given over to the actual party itself,” said Benioff.

“We think it’s going to be the biggest party ever shown on TV. We’ve got literally hundreds of extras and there’s seven tonnes of ice-cream, ten thousand sausage rolls and party eggs, and a thousand gallons of fizzy pop.

The final scene of the season, and the conclusion to the epic fantasy series, will show Lannisters, Starks and dragons all dancing in unison to Saturday Night by Whigfield.

A fitting end to a classic TV show.
