Square Enix have announced a fourth game in in their popular Tomb Raider series.
Flatulence of the Tomb Raider will follow Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and will be based around an epic story of Lara Croft’s bad guts.
“It all begins with Lara at home in her sprawling country mansion,” explains producer Fleur Marty.
“She is reflecting on all the tombs she’s raided whilst enjoying a cauliflower and broccoli and bean curry.
“However, what she doesn’t realise is that her faithful butler Winston got the curry from out-of-date aisle in the Tesco Metro and it was on the turn.”
So begins a new exciting adventure in which Lara explores the ancient, hidden tombs of the Sudan whilst trying to hold in apocalyptic farts that could alert the supernatural tomb guardians to her presence.
However, a new game mechanic could see Lara use her flatulence to her own advantage.
“Oh yeah, Lara’s the sort of strong character who really owns her bad guts,” continued Marty.
“So, if there is a gang of bad guys blocking her way, she can sneak up and let go a silent-but-deadly one that clears the room and let’s her pass.
“Another scenario would be Lara using an explosive fart to scare off some animals in her way.
“Her guts are an integral part of the game.”
So confident are Square Enix of the success of Flatulence of the Tomb Raider that they have already started work on a fifth game in the series – Halitosis of the Tomb Raider due in 2022.
