Ripley has a nice 70-year sleep and is woken up by Paul Reiser, the most despicable space-yuppie ever. She makes friends with some soldiers and they all go through space to duff up the aliens. This proves trickier than expected. Everything is nuked from space, because it’s the only way to be sure and Ripley settles down for a nice sleep again.

Trivia
The aliens used in the film are actually from Mars and, in real life, are gentle, peaceful creatures who enjoy a Martian variation of cricket.
Sigourney Weaver was accidentally killed during the climatic battle with the alien and production was halted for nearly a year while she got better.
James Cameron belied his fearsome image by taking out all cast and crew individually for romantic meals at a nice Italian restaurant round the corner.
It was wartime Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin’s favourite film.
Bloopers
Nuking it from space isn’t the only way to be sure, you could simply set up a remote monitoring system.
In an early scene, an alien can be seen driving a VW Golf GTI, a model which was never made available in space.
