Following last week’s news that fans are suing Universal over Ana De Armas’ absence from the move Yesterday, other fans of the actress have decided to sue the BBC because she wasn’t in Eastenders.
“I didn’t know we could do this,” said Stewart James, one of the fans bringing the legal action.
“But, you know, if those guys can sue because she wasn’t in that film, then we can sue because she wasn’t in Eastenders. Precedents and all that, it’s how law works.”
Mr James went on to say what Ms de Armas could have done in Eastenders.
“Oh, anything really. She’s great. Did you see her in No Time To Die? Brilliant. I guess she could have run a stall on the market selling, you know, nice Spanish delicacies. Tapas and whatnot.”
She went on to add that her and other fans were considering further legal action.
“Well, look, Ana hasn’t been in lots of things. I mean she’s amazing but, what, she’s done that Blade Runner film, Knives Out and No Time To Die. So, if we can sue people for her not being in stuff, then there’s a lot – Terminator 2, Holby City, Citizen Kane, last night’s News at Ten, my Brother-in-Law’s wedding anniversary video, Trumpton, The World at War, the John Lewis Christmas advert.
“She wasn’t in any of those and, speaking as a fan, I think she should have been and I feel like I’ve experienced distress because she wasn’t.
“Can I have some money please.” The BBC have yet to comment on the action as, following the results of a recent court case, they’re retrospectively having to cut in scenes of Penelope Cruz into last year’s submarine crime drama Vigil.
