Exclusive: Blair Witch footage FAKE!

The Blair Witch project is one of the most powerful films of the nineties, revered by many for its shocking and terrifying depiction of supernatural activity.

However, new evidence presented by Screen Idle proves that fans and critics alike have been duped for almost twenty years.

The Blair Witch footage is FAKE.

“Well, my first clue was the credits,” said unemployed hamster wrangler and amateur film sleuth Mary Williams.

“I mean, it’s clear as day – ‘the characters in this film are fictional’ – well, if the characters are fictional, then I wondered if the whole thing was fictional.”

Mary spent several months poring over old articles, maps of the area, and books about witches before she came across the smoking gun.

“Right, it’s a bit technical,” she admits.

“I noticed that if you load up the DVD, you know you have to click on ‘play,’ right? Well, if you don’t do that but use the arrows on your remote, you can navigate to something called ‘special features,’ which gives you a hidden menu that contains ‘the making of the Blair Witch Project.’

“I watched that, and it’s everything. How they made the dolls, how they cast the role of Heather, where they filmed it. It admits everything is fake

“It’s almost like they wanted to be caught, I mean they just laid everything out on how they did everything. It debunks the whole film.”

Of course, the other great supernatural documentary of the time is Paranormal Activity, but Mary reassured us that it was legitimate.

“Paranormal Activity? Yeah, that’s genuine. Well, I mean, it’s right there isn’t it. You see a ghost throwing the woman about and everything. I don’t know why anyone would think that’s a fake.

“That is fact.”
