Ewok rap musical: George Lucas reveals his plans for Star Wars sequels

George Lucas has finally gone on record to explain what his plans would have been for the most recent Star Wars sequels.

“An Ewok rap musical. It was the only place I wanted to take Star Wars next,” explained the directing legend.

“After Return of the Jedi, the universe was in equilibrium, the enemy defeated, the heroes triumphant. It was time to tell a different story, a smaller story. The story of a plucky band of Ewoks as they start to rebuild their planet through the power of rap.”

He went on to explain how the first sequel would have looked should he have been in charge.

“We begin with the millennium falcon blasting off into space, leaving the Ewoks looking round their planet at the devastation brought by the battle. They are distraught to see that their Ewok community centre has been badly damaged. The corrupt Ewok leadership decide to seize the opportunity to tear down the community centre and replace it with a shopping mall and entertainment complex for the well-heeled Ewok elites. However, the Ewoks decide to take matters into their own hands and raise the money to repair their community centre by holding an epic rap show.”

Lucas was quick to deny that he’d simply lifted the plot of Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo for his sequel plans.

“No. No, I don’t see that at all. I mean, granted, ‘Boogaloo is a classic and there is certainly a chance I was influenced by it, but their rap musical was set in LA, mine would have been in outer space, theirs featured humans, mine Ewoks.

“Completely different.”

He then went on to explain that the second sequel would have been set in a wizard school on Tatooine, and everyone stopped listening before he could explain about his third one.
