More details have emerged of Peter Jackson’s new project, the WWI documentary They Shall Not Grow Old, and there is some surprise and disappointment that no hobbits will feature.
“Really disappointed that new Peter Jackson WWI documentary hasn’t got any hobbits in,” said twitter user @myringtorulethemall.
“If he had any respect for his fans, he would have made it a World War I documentary about hobbits, but he seems to think he’s too important for that now.
Another fan suggested how the Lord of the Rings director could rectify the situation.
“What he could do is use technology,” said @totalgandalf.
“Get some hobbits to do some acting and film them and then use technology to put that film of the hobbits in the documentary.
“It’s pretty easy, I did a video for mum’s birthday which was her sitting in the garden with it cutting to clips from a Bucks Fizz concert, so it looked like Bucks Fizz were doing a concert right in her garden.
“He just needs to do something like that except with hobbits instead of mum and World War I instead of a Bucks Fizz concert.”
Mr Jackson has yet to comment on the matter, which almost certainly indicates that he is considering @totalgandalf’s suggestion.
