‘Color of Money was balls’ – Kevin Feige hits back at Scorsese criticism

Marvel boss Kevin Feige has hit back at legendary director Martin Scorsese’s criticism of Marvel films, calling Scorsese’s Color of Money ‘balls.’

Scorsese claimed in an interview that Marvel films were ‘not cinema’ – a criticism that many people feel was motivated by Marvel’s reluctance to let him direct Ant-man.

Kevin Feige had initially remained silent since Scorsese’s criticism, but yesterday evening he finally responded.

“Naturally, I respect the hell out of Martin Scorsese, and he is entitled to his opinion on my movies,” he began, reasonably enough.

“But, let’s be honest here – Color of Money was balls. I mean, you talk about Iron Man 2 and, yeah, maybe that wasn’t our finest hour but, come on, you’d rather watch that a hundred times than watch Tom Cruise goofing around with a pool queue.

“Then there’s Shutter Island, The Aviator, Cape Fear – just terrible movies. I mean, who the hell does this guy think he is? I made Black goddamn Panther and he thinks he has something to say to me because he once directed a Michael Jackson video?

“Also, Raging Bull is too long, boring, and would have seen less pretentious if it had been in colour.”

Mr Feige also addressed similar criticism of his films from the likes Francis Ford Coppola, Ken Loach, and Fernando Merirelles.

“Dicks.”
