In a surprising move, producers of the upcoming James Bond film have confirmed that the villain will be ‘the darkness inherent in all of us.’
Initial rumours had Freddie Mercury impersonator Rami Malek in line for the newest Bond villain. But instead, producers have decided on a more philosophical approach.
“These are dark, dark times we live in,” said producer Barbara Broccoli.
“It seems to me that, if anything, the real villain here is the darkness inherent in all men, and so it is that which James Bond will do battle with in this latest film.”
Ms Broccoli went on to detail exactly what a film in which James Bond will do battle with the darkness in all of us will look like.
“I don’t know, I would imagine there would be a lot of James going to punch someone, and then that person going – ‘Mr Bond, don’t you really just want to punch the darkness inherent in all men’ – and then James agrees and they talk philosophically about how you can’t punch the darkness inherent in all men, it is all far more complicated than that.”
Ms Broccoli did concede that the film will conclude with a giant evil lair spectacularly exploding.
“Of course, I mean, there are some traditions that should always remain.
“However, in this case the giant evil lair will be a metaphor for the darkness inherent in all men.
“Otherwise it would just be silly.”
