‘Bird Box Challenge’ sees people trying to survive for as long as possible in a big bird box

Inspired by the hit Netflix film Bird Box, a new craze has swept the Internet that sees people try to survive for as long as possible in a person sized bird box.

The craze appears to have begun in Portland, Oregon. A video appeared on YouTube a week ago which showed a group of young people laughing uproariously and pointing at an oversized bird box.

As the camera gets closer, we see that there is someone inside, asking for the seed dispenser to be refilled as she’s getting really hungry.

The group then turn to the camera and shout ‘Bird Box Challenge.’

Since then, the craze as swept the globe with everyone from small children to Chancellor Merkel of Germany joining in the fun.

However, Netflix have been moved to issue a warning after several instances of emergency services being called out when people got trapped in their bird boxes and their water bottles ran empty.

With the ‘Bird Box Challenge’ proving so popular, it can only be a matter of time before Netflix’s other big recent hit inspires a similar craze. The ‘Roma Challenge’ could see participants travel back to seventies Mexico City and attempt to hold a disintegrating family together.
