Abandoned Back to the Future sequel would have seen Marty successfully get off with mum

A script for an abandoned Back to the Future sequel has emerged that would have finally seen Marty get off with his mum.

The script, for a fourth film, would have seen the Doc reappear in 1985 with the dramatic statement – “Marty, it’s your mum, she really fancies you.”

“I think anyone would admit it’s a hell of a hook,” said film historian Stewart James, who discovered the script in the bin of an amateur writer in Wiltshire, England.

“The entire series has been a will-they-won’t-they thing between Marty and his Mum, and now, finally, we’re going to see that play out.”

The script has Marty and the Doc travel back to 1955, set up a date between Marty and his mum where, finally, they consummate their attraction in a lengthy and, for the series, very explicit scene of love-making.

However, in so doing, Marty causes a catastrophe in the space/time continuum.

“Ah, I see. Yes. Well, by getting off with his mum, Marty effectively prevents his parents from forming a relationship and conceiving himself,” explained physicist Kelly Grace.

“Meaning he can’t be there, but he is. It’s what we call the theoretical horny paradox.”

The rest of the film sees the space/time continuum break down causing the end of humanity as we know it in what would have been one of the darkest endings in the franchise.

However, despite the downbeat ending, Stewart doesn’t necessarily think it would have been the end of the franchise.

“No, I think you could have had a fifth film where the Doc takes Marty back to stop previous Marty from getting off with his mum before the horny paradox kicks in, and then a final film in which everyone goes to the old west again for no particularly good reason.”
