It’s the second weekend in January, and all New Year’s resolutions should be long forgotten. So, get yourself a bucket of Lambrusco and all the Ferrero Rocher you can muster and settle down to enjoy these great films.
Saturday
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 01.05 Sony Movie Channel
Features neither tiger, nor dragon. Fair enough, the dragon is hidden so that’s understandable. But you should be able to see a tiger even if its crouching. Poor.
Harry Potter and Hallowed Elf of Justice (or something) 17.55 ITV2
Wizard sequel that, inevitably, is ‘much darker this time.’ If it was that dark, then they’d all become heroin addicts during a nuclear apocalypse and Harry’s wand would fall off. They don’t though, they just do magic in a nice castle and everyone learns a valuable lesson.
No Way Out 21.00 True Movies 1
Yeah there is, it’s just through the back there. Past the toilets.
Sunday
Miracle on 34th Street 17.45 E4
Heartwarming Christmas classic that’s eleven and a half months early. Well done lads.
Pride and Prejudice 16.25 Film4
Bonnets and Keira Knightley. Your mum will want to watch this, but she’ll fall asleep because she had a gin too many while she made a big chicken.
Moshi Monsters: The Movie 08.45 E4
Hell.
New at the cinema this weekend
Colette
Keira Knightley, bonnets. If she ever gives up acting, there’s going to be some vintage costumers in bother.
DVD of the Week
Coco
Little boy goes to live with zombie skeletons in terrifying Pixar classic.
