The Bogeying is a new Netflix horror about sentient bogeys

Netflix has announced a brand-new horror film called The Bogeying.

The premise of the film will be that, following an explosion at a nuclear power plant, a sofa in a nearby student house is irradiated.

The radiation then triggers a mutation in the bogeys on the underside of the sofa causing them to become sentient and aggressive.

“The Bogeying plays on the fear that everyone has that, one day, all the bogeys they’ve absently wiped on a nearby surface will come to life and wreak a terrible revenge,” explained Netflix executive Stewart James.

Perhaps the most terrifying thing about the sentient bogeys in the Bogeying is their ability to bring other bogeys to life.

“Yes, that’s actually based on science,” continued Mr James.

“Made up science, granted. But science nonetheless. Apparently, the genetic makeup of bogeys is such that if they came to life they would all be able to connect to each other using strange psychic powers.”

It is that power that gives the film its incredible climax.

“Yeah, it’s five hundred thousand bogeys all converging on London for one final battle between man and bogey,” said James.

“I’ve seen some rough effects shots and even now you can tell that it’ll be like nothing you’ve ever seen.”

The Bogeying will debut on Netflix next Autumn.

There has been no cast as yet announced but it seems like the sort of thing Nicolas Cage would be involved with.
