Screen Idle releases trailer for upcoming article

Plucky ‘humour’ website Screen Idle today released a teaser trailer for a new article due to be released later in the day

The trailer consists of an article about the release of the trailer that contains the following phrase from the upcoming article –

‘The first one was shocking. Terrible. Obviously, it was. It’s a duck from outer space. No one wanted to see a duck from outer space in 1986.’

Speculation is rife about the trailer and exactly what the forthcoming article is about.

“Well, it mentions a duck, so I reckon the article will be 5000-word essay on Yasujiro Ozu’s seminal 1953 work Tokyo Story,” said Screen Idle fan Tom Hanks.

“But with jokes.”

However, others had their own theories.

“Nob off Hanks, you nob. That’s balls. There’s no ducks in Tokyo Story,” said Tom’s The Post co-star Meryl Streep.

“It says 1986, so I reckon it’ll be a wry look back at Star Trek IV because that had a duck in.

“Oh no, wait. That was a whale, not a duck.”

There was some concern that the trailer may backfire.

“I just hope they haven’t put the funniest bit of the article in the trailer,” said top French President Emmanuel Macron.

“I mean, I’m an avid Screen Idle reader, as are most world leaders, and so I know it doesn’t get that much funnier than a sentence about a duck in the eighties.”

The new article will be released in the later today and probably isn’t strong enough to warrant this sort of build up.
