A remake of Mel Gibson ‘comedy’ What Women Want is coming soon for some reason.
The original featured Mel develop special powers to hear what women are thinking after being hit by some sort of mind-ray…or something, to be honest, we really can’t remember. He probably learnt an important lesson in the end, though.
The remake will switch the gender of the protagonist because it’s 2018 and that’s what passes for originality these days.
“Yeah, we’d been drinking pretty heavily that night,” said a studio executive.
“We all woke up the next day and all felt grim. No one could remember anything but it turned out we’d commissioned all female version of What Women Want.”
“After Ben Hur and now this? Man, I’m never drinking tequila again.”
The film is set for a 2019 release and will star Taraji P Henson who, it is assumed, lost a bet.
