Studio to reboot Schindlers List into either Schindler franchise or List franchise

A list, which could be the basis of a film in the 'list' franchise

A studio is set to reboot the Spielberg classic Schindler’s List with a view to either making a Schindler franchise or a List franchise.

“Yeah, look, so we were thinking about having an original idea, but that seemed like a lot of work,” explained producer Stewart James.

“So we started looking back at properties that had stalled and there it was; boom! Schindler’s List. Oscars, box office, critical acclaim. Nice theme tune. So, that’s it, we’re going to go for a reboot. Same story but we set it in the eighties. The eighties is always popular. We get some crazy shoulder pads, Duran Duran, a Big Trak. Everyone loves the eighties.”

Confident of a hit, all that remains to be settled is where to take the franchise.

“So, yeah, is it a Schindler franchise? You know the guy; Schindler, he travels around helping people, getting them off trains. All that stuff he did in the original picture. Maybe he can’t stay somewhere too long because the Nazis, or whatever the eighties equivalent of Nazis is, Skeleton? I don’t know, but they might catch up with him.

“Or do we go down the List route. Start with Schindler’s List then Jeff’s List then the Mankowicz’s list and it’s a different sort of list each time – Shopping, To-do, Transfer, Christmas.

“I don’t know. I guess we’ll see how the reboot works out first. See if people like the list aspect or the Schindler thing”

Schindlerz Litz will begin production next year and will star one of the Stranger Things kids as Cory Schindler, the school jock, and Sabrina Carpenter in her film debut as his girlfriend Izzy. Wang Chung will soundtrack it.
