Planned film without superhero in delayed from 2026 to 2028

Plans to release a film in 2026 without a superhero in have been delayed until 2028, after producers decided that the film without a superhero in would actually be better with a superhero in.

“Making a film without a superhero in is a huge gamble,” explained Kelly Grace, a producer.

“Would people go and see it? Would they go and see it and be confused and disappointed when a superhero didn’t turn up and start battling aliens? Would they think it was a big joke?

“We just don’t think audiences are ready for that yet, so we’ve made sure that the film now has a superhero in it, and now we’ve got a small team of writers working up a way to tell a different story without a superhero in.”

Film fans were unsure what to make of the news.

“I don’t know, man. Can you really have a film without a superhero in?” said blogger and fan Stewart James.

“I mean, films have someone in who gets bitten by something radioactive and then they tentatively come to terms with having powers. Then they make a mistake with their powers and vow never to use them again, then ultimately, they do use them again brilliantly and save the day.

“That’s what films are. How does a film even work if you don’t have a superhero in it? Sounds weird to me. I think this whole releasing-a-film-without-a-superhero-in is just people trying to be a bit controversial to get in the news.”

Following the announced delay, it is now confirmed that every film released for the next four years will have a superhero in, just like every film released in the last twelve years or so.
