Peaky Blinders movie sees Tommy Shelby lead Birmingham’s defence against alien attack

Further details have been released about the upcoming Peaky Blinders film, increasing a surprising plot line that doesn’t necessarily continue on from the TV show.

“We wanted to create a one-shot film, something that didn’t need people to be steeped in the lore of the TV show,” explained producer Stewart James.

“So, instead of revisiting Tommy’s criminal empire, we thought we’d try something else. We wondered how would Tommy behave in the event of an alien attack.”

“He’s loyal to his friends, he’s proud of Birmingham, he’s a war-hero. If there were an alien attack on Birmingham, he’d be leading the resistance.

The film opens with the Peaky Blinders all walking about in slow-motion along an industrial canal with a Nick Cave song about crime playing in the background. The scene darkens, the Peaky Blinders all look up and see a giant flying saucer has eclipsed the sun. They react immediately and throw their razor bladed peaked caps at it, but it has no effect and begins firing lasers at Birmingham.

The Peaky Blinders immediately repair to The Garrison pub for a family conference. Whilst the overwhelming mood is to leave Birmingham for the countryside and start doing some crimes, Tommy gives a rousing speech about how Birmingham is their home and it is their duty to protect it from aliens.

The film continues with the aliens occupying Birmingham and Tommy establishing an unlikely alliance with the police to form a resistance against the aliens. The film climaxes with Tommy and a young policeman taking control of an alien space ship and using it to take the war to the aliens.

“This is very much a new vision of the Peaky Blinders. Yes, they are still a criminal gang, but when it comes to an alien invasion, they are very much on the side of humanity.”

Peaky Blinders: Invasion! Is currently filming for a planned release next year. Producers, confident of its success are already working on a sequel.

“Obviously, I can’t say to much,” continued James, “but if you’d ever wondered how the Peaky Blinders would behave if genetically engineered dinosaurs went on the rampage in Birmingham, then you might be in luck.”
