New details have emerged suggesting that the new Obi-Wan Kenobi TV show will be a wacky 1930s-style screwball comedy.
It is understood that it will even be filmed in black and white and have all the characters smoking and wearing nice suits.
“Yeah, Solo was great. Real great. Everyone was just thrilled with how that turned out,” said Alec McGregor, a Star Wars insider.
“So, in tribute to just how great it was, we’re going to do something completely different, and we think 1930s screwball comedy is at the real heart of the Ben Kenobi character.”
It is understood that the show will be set a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away on a planet that just happens to look like pre-war Philadelphia.
Ben Kenobi is a hot young reporter who is tasked with covering a society wedding between an Alderaanian princess and a leopard while hiding a criminal in a space-piano.
An incredibly convoluted series of events sees the young Ben fall in love with the Princess but forced to marry the leopard at a ceremony held by the criminal under the space-piano.
Everything sorts itself out in the end. No one really understands how, but everyone is incredibly good-looking and says so many funny things that no one really minds.
The show, Ben Kenobi’s Girl Friday Brings Up Baby in Philadelphia, will be released on Disney+, will be accompanied by a pulsating jazz soundtrack and will have the snappiest dressed action figures yet seen for a Star Wars release.
