A new movie adaptation of the leading sensible lorry driving simulator Euro Truck Simulator 2 has been announced.
Taking inspiration from the Gran Turismo adaption which tells the real-life story of a man who played Gran Turismo joining a race team, the Euro Truck Simulator 2 adaptation will tell the story of a man who plays Euro Truck Simulator 2.
“Gran Turismo has changed everything. It’s the story of a guy who played Gran Turismo,” explained producer Stewart James.
“If you can do that then why not the story of a man who plays Euro Truck Simulator 2?”
The film is promising the most realistic depiction of a man playing Euro Truck Simulator 2 possible with today’s technology.
“We’ve set up a really nice gaming computer in a big study, there are cameras all round the study to capture everything about playing Euro Truck Simulator 2. It’s going to be so immersive. You’re going to come out of the picture with a real feeling of exactly what it must feel like to play Euro Truck Simulator 2 for a couple of hours.”
The producer isn’t worried that this film won’t feature the more excitement of real-life driving, like Gran Turismo.
“No, if anything, I think that’s where they’ve made their mistake. You want to see people racing cars or driving trucks then you can just go and look at any motorway. How often do you really get to see someone playing a computer game?”
If Euro Truck Simulator 2 is a success, then James and his company are already lining up a sequel based on popular sensible train simulator Train Sim World 3.
