A man who hasn’t seen Star Wars has taken to the Internet to describe how he hasn’t seen Star Wars in the fervent belief that having not seen Star Wars makes him a more interesting person.
Luke Harrison, an unemployed yogurt stiffener from Chelmsford, Essex, visited a Facebook group dedicated to science fiction and, with breath-taking use of the word ‘actually,’ posted that he’d never seen Star Wars.
The comment has, as yet, received no likes or comments.
“I’m not really sure what he hoped to achieve,” said a member of the group.
“I mean, he seeks out a thread on a science fiction group specifically to state that he’d never seen the topic of the thread.
“What does he expect? Everyone to go ‘you’re amazing, let’s be friends forever.’
“I think he might be a bit of a dick.”
However, Mr Harrison has a different take on the situation.
“Yeah, I just like to think for myself and not get sucked in my hype,” he claimed, affecting diffidence.
“So, I’ve deliberately never seen the Star Wars films or Marvel films and, basically, just prefer stuff in black and white and with subtitles and if I can’t find anything that’s black and white and subtitled then I just watch a normal film, but turn the colour and sound on the TV down and read the script while I watch it.
“I suppose I’m just a bit more interesting than most film fans.”
It is understood that since posting in the forum, Mr Harrison’s mum has requested he use a pseudonym when online so people don’t think she’s associated with him.
