A local corner shop is to offer a new TV streaming service because, why not? Everyone else is, it was announced earlier today.
The local corner shop joins Disney, Apple, and any other entertainment company who has looked at Netflix and gone ‘that looks easy.’
“Our streaming service will begin on May 1st,” said Stewart James, the man who runs the corner shop.
“Whilst I admit, we won’t have exclusives such as Aladdin and Star Wars like that new Disney channel, we will make up for it in convenience.
“For example, you will be able to pay for your subscription when you pop in for a curly-wurly and a copy of the Guardian with a grumble magazine tucked discreetly in the arts and culture section.
“Can Disney offer that? Certainly not if you’re not in a big city.”
The announcement has generated excitement amongst local streaming fans.
“Yeah, brilliant news,” said Barry Onions, an unemployed snail wrestler.
“I’ve only got ninety-nine different streaming services on my telly so to be able to get that up to a round one hundred is really exciting.”
The local corner shop has yet to confirm exactly what titles will be available on it’s streaming service, but has vehemently denied that it will simply be a webcam pointing at Sky One.
