Joker 2 to feature more pies in the face and slapstick

A sequel to Joker has been announced and director Todd Phillips has already promised more slapstick and pies in the face.

“I’ll be honest, for a film about a nice clown, the first film took a darker turn than any of us were expecting,” he explains.

“What with all the insanity, murder and chaos. I think we’ll try and tone that down for the second film.”

Phillips went on to explain that Joker 2 will take place following the Joker’s incarceration in Arkham Asylum.

“I’m aiming for a redemption story and, crucially, a story about a nice clown.

“So, we’ll have the Joker join a circus, work really hard at being a clown and making people laugh.

“I’m really interested in exploring the business of being a clown, so we’ll have a big set piece of Joaquin getting a pie in the face as his pants fall down and he trips over before getting in a car that belches smoke and only drives five feet when the wheels fall off.

“I think it will really be a reflection of the society we live in today. Much more so than the first film.”

It is expected that Joker 2 will have a PG rating and have a tie-in with McDonalds so that children can collect nice Joker toys.

“Yes, exactly,” confirmed Phillips.

“The whole thing’s going to be lovely.

“Either that or we’ll just go with ninety minutes of Joker chainsawing people in the face.”
