Eccentric European filmmakers have remade David Fincher’s dark thriller The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo in Swedish.

The strange remake was discovered on Netflix by unsuspecting fan Michael Repace.

“Yeah, I was just flicking through, looking for something to watch, and came across Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and thought ‘James Bond, brutal violence, mohawks – good times,’” said the unemployed cow shaver from Chelmsford.

“So, I popped it on for me and mum to watch while we ate our Findus Crispy Pancakes.”

At first all appeared well, but soon Mr Repace’s mother noticed something amiss.

“Yeah, it was mum who noticed first, she just went ‘why are they talking funny?’

“Well, at first, I thought the telly was broken or something but then I realised – that wasn’t Daniel Craig!”

Mr Repace finished his Findus Crispy Pancakes and set to work investigating.

“Yeah, I googled Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and it came up with Daniel Craig, so I googled ‘Girl with the Dragon Tattoo weird voices’ and it came up with a different version of the film.

“Turns out these Swedish people had done a remake except, and this is so weird, instead of doing it in a normal language, they did it in Swedish! What’s that about! Literally no one is going to be able to understand it.”

Mr Repace immediately switched off and destroyed his television and has written to Netflix to alert them to the fact that they are showing an unintelligible version of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

He has yet to receive a response.

*Alright, perhaps ‘love’ is pushing it, maybe ‘be mildly diverted by’
