Lethal Weapon

Mad Mel and his mullet team up with Danny Glover and his suspiciously massive house (on a cop’s pay? There’s something else going on here) to solve all the crimes. Iconic bit at the end where mad Mel beats up chief baddie in the rain rather than arrest him because police guidelines were weird in the 80s.

Trivia

In 2001, Mel Gibson’s Lethal Weapon mullet was declared a crime against humanity

Mel Gibson and Danny Glover did not get on at all, and on the last day of filming decide to settle their differences with a duel to the death. Glover won, and Gibson was never seen again

Although set at Christmas, it is not a Christmas film because Bruce Willis isn’t in it duffing up terrorists

During filming, Gary Busey had to take regular breaks as he was in Public Enemy and was recording ‘Yo! Bum Rush the Show”

Bloopers

In early scenes, Mel Gibson has a Welsh accent because the story was originally set in Cardiff

Quotes

“I’m too old for this shit” – Roger Murtaugh, as he wakes up constipated once again
