David Fincher reveals new deadly sin of walking slowly and getting in people’s way in Se7en sequel, 8ight

David Fincher has finally revealed more information about his upcoming Se7en sequel, 8ight.

The sequel will feature a new serial killer who is punishing people for the eight deadly sins.

“Lust and envy are bad. You shouldn’t do those sorts of sins at all,” explained the legendary Alien 3 director.

“But we, obviously, needed a new deadly sin that was just as bad, and so we’ve come up with the deadly sin of walking really quite slowly and getting in people’s way because, it you think about it, that is absolutely a terrible thing.

“If you’re in a hurry and you need to get to a meeting and there’s someone just dithering about walking slowly and stopping to look in shop windows and texting on their phone and just getting in your way then that, I think we can all agree, is as bad as murder.”

The film opens with Detectives Somerset and Mills called to investigate someone who’s had their legs broken and made to walk until they die. Detective Somerset immediately realises that they’d be walking really slowly and getting in people’s way because their legs were broken, and therefore that they must have another deadly sin serial killer on their hands.

Fincher also revealed that 8ight will be the second in a proposed trilogy and that the third film will be called Nin9 and will feature the eight deadly sins from 8ight along with the new one – watching YouTube videos on the train without using headphones.
