Producers of the latest James Bond film have regretted their decision to hold a public vote to pick the name of the film.
The results were announced earlier this week and, inevitably, showed an overwhelming support for Bondy McBondface.
“Well, look we were a little busy, alright?” explained producer Barbara Broccoli.
“Daniel had broken his ankle, the director had quit, we’d just cleared a plague of locusts, and we were having to arrange an exorcism of angry spirits from the set.
“We didn’t had time to think of a title so we decided to turn that decision over to the public.
“Obviously, we failed to appreciate that the public are, by and large, gits.”
Approximately two thirds of the public voted for the latest Bond film to be called Bondy McBondface. There were also strong showings for James Bond and the Goblet of Fire and James Bond and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
“We also had one guy who send in sixty-two votes for Spy Who Loved Me. I don’t know if he thought it was a poll of best Bond films or if he was just really new to the franchise.”
Despite the unusual nature of the name, Ms Broccoli admits it could have been worse.
“Sure,” she agreed.
“We were so busy, if it had been left to us we’d have just tossed off some generic sounding meaningless nonsense like No Time to Die.
“Even Bondy McBondface is better than something like that.”
