A fifth film in the hugely popular Bad Boys franchise has been confirmed. Bad Boys: Sink the Bismarck will see the wisecracking duo identify the location of the huge German battleship The Bismarck, and then come up with a plan to sink it and prevent German naval dominance in the North Atlantic.
“I think that, for the fifth film, we want to do something a little different. We need to get the guys out of Miami and what could be a more exciting location than Northern Europe in World War II,” explained producer Stewart James.
“You’ll have all these stuffy formal British admirals and politicians, and then Marcus and Mike walk in and are like ’S’Up Y’all’ and the admirals are all like ‘I say, who are these dreadful Americans?’ But, you know, they all develop respect for each other and learn to work together.”
The plot sees Mike and Marcus on a drug stakeout in Miami. They see that the drugs are being imported by Nazis who are using the proceeds of their trade to finance Germany’s invasion of Europe in 1939 and 1940.
They report everything to Captain Secada, but she tells them that they have to let it go because for the last eighty years, the US has had a policy of neutrality in the early years of the second world war. But Mike and Marcus decide that as cops in 21st Century Miami, neutrality is no longer an option, so they take matters into their own hands and head off to Europe to sink the Bismarck!
The franchise is now a Columbia Pictures staple, so much so that a sixth film is already planned. Bad Boys: Little Woman, will see the guys getting involved in the lives of a family of sisters in the American Civil War.
