New details have emerged or the fifth and final series of top-off Mum favourite Poldark, with producers promising that viewers will, finally, get to see and experience Poldark’s superpowers.
The Poldark books initially found fame in the latter half of last century with their racy tales of 18th century romance and crime-fighting superheroism.
Despite its immense popularity, the programme has faced criticism from fans for focusing too much on Aidan Turner taking his top off and not enough on using superpowers to infiltrate the extensive super-villain network is that referenced to such success in the books.
“Fans can rest assured, this series will finally see Ross don his cape and mask and use his superstrength to smash that shadowy Cornish super-villain network,” said series producer Karen Horsfield.
“We’ve got spectacular scenes of Poldark flying over the Cornish coast, smashing through a rock fall to rescue a dog, and using his X-ray vision to gather the evidence to lock up those super-villains for good.”
There is no news on exactly what super-villains Poldark will face in this series, although fans will be hoping that the sexy Limpet-Lady will make an appearance, as her romantic dalliance with Poldark has long been one of the most popular storylines of the books.
Series Five of Poldark is expected later this year, and will be accompanied by a McDonalds promotional tie-in and a series of SuperRoss action figures.
