Aw hell no! Slappy Will Smith is funny, grumpy Tommy Lee Jones is grumpy. Together, they’re annoying. Big joke is that aliens are already on Earth and are disguised as Rod Stewart or a horse or your mum or Essex and it’s all very amusing. Slappy Will and Grumpy Tom muck about annoying aliens for a bit and then save the world or something.

Hardly any of the aliens depicted in the film are based on real aliens

Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones got on so well together whilst making the film that they successfully ran for President and Vice-President in 2001 and served a well-regarded single term

Although the song ‘Men in Black’ was released under Will smith’s name, it was Tommy Lee Jones who did all the rapping and singing

Howard Hawks was originally slated to direct, sadly, he’d died long before the script and story were developed
